The Felix Project aims high on A40 Vanguard building

Vanguard Self Storage is using the roof of its iconic building on the A40 between Perivale and Hanger Lane to raise awareness of Park Royal-based food rescue charity The Felix Project.

One of The Felix Project’s vans has now been placed on the roof and will be there until early spring to help spread the word of the work the charity does to help feed people in Ealing and across London.

According to The Felix Project, during 2024 it prevented almost 16,000 tonnes of surplus food from going to waste which is the equivalent of 38M meals.  The food is distributed to over 1,200 organisations including food banks, homeless shelters and primary schools.

Will McCullagh, managing director of Vanguard Self Storage, said: “As a family-run business with a long and established history in the capital, we are committed to supporting our local communities. We have worked and supported The Felix Project previously, so we are proud to come together again to inform others about its vital work. We hope our joint initiative encourages the public and food businesses to support this important cause.”

Tanya Mitchell, director of income generation and marketing from The Felix Project, added: “The visible support will enhance our efforts and hopefully inspire more people to support The Felix Project and help to make a positive impact in the fight against hunger.”
