Southall fire update: major incident now stood down

London Fire Brigade has stood down the major incident declared earlier today (25 November 2025) in Southall, but firefighters will remain at the scene overnight as work continues to bring a large warehouse and retail building fire under control.

The Brigade said the major incident, declared at 12.20pm, was stood down at 6.02pm. The fire remains active and crews will continue operations through the night at the site on Bridge Street.

Control Officers received 70 calls about the fire, with the first at 8.55am. Crews from Southall, Heston, Ealing and surrounding stations were sent to the incident.

The fire is in a two storey structure comprising warehouse and retail space. At the height of the incident around three quarters of the building was alight. The roof later collapsed and about a quarter of the structure continues to burn.

Three of the Brigade’s turntable ladders have been deployed to allow crews to fight the fire from height. Firefighters were withdrawn to a safe distance earlier in the day due to the risk of explosions. Subsequent operations have been carried out from outside the building to ensure crew safety.

Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene through the evening and into the night as they work to fully extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
