Ealing’s Metropolitan Police have issued an alert to jewellery businesses in the borough following a rise in thefts and burglaries targeting high-value items. Officers are looking for help to identify those stealing and reselling precious goods across Ealing’s seven towns.
In a message sent through the Met’s, Met Engage community platform, PCSO Joshua Nesbitt urged traders to assist the investigation by confirming whether they operated in the jewellery sector and by reporting any suspicious activity.
He said: “Across the borough of Ealing officers have noticed an increase in thefts and burglaries targeting jewellery and are contacting yourselves as you are listed as being interested/listed as a jewellery business.
“Please could you let us know if you are a jewellery business, or if you have any information on any local businesses and/or information on where items could be sold. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated whilst we work towards making a safer area for all.”
Police have asked for any information to be reported by either calling 101, contacting the force online, or providing information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
