Park Royal man sentenced in final stage of Harrow murder case

A 24-year-old man from Park Royal has been sentenced over the disorder that led to the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in Harrow almost three years ago.

Jameel Sharif, of Waverley Gardens, Park Royal, was given a four-and-a-half-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after admitting affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

His sentencing brings to a close the criminal cases arising from the events that led to the death of Hamed Mani outside St George’s Shopping Centre in Harrow on 9 August 2023.

Hamed was chased and fatally stabbed after an altercation involving two groups outside the shopping centre. Abbas Mansur Jean-Pierre, of Northolt, and Shakur Idan, of Harrow, were convicted of murder at the Old Bailey in July 2024 and each jailed for life with minimum terms of 23 years.

Three other men involved in the disorder have also now been sentenced. Noor Mohammed, of Harrow, received a suspended prison sentence after admitting affray. Angel Lacatus, of Hemel Hempstead, was jailed for six months after pleading guilty to affray and possession of an offensive weapon, while Raphael Morais, of Harrow, was given a 12-month rehabilitation order after admitting violent disorder.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who led the Metropolitan Police investigation, said: “My thoughts remain with Hamed’s family and loved ones, who have waited several years for all those involved in the incident that led to his death to face justice.

“They are the ones who have received the real life sentence in this case. Hamed’s killers will eventually be released from custody; Hamed’s family face a life without him.”

In a statement, Hamed’s family said life had “totally changed” since his death and that they continued to live with “a profound sense of loss and sorrow”.
