North Acton-based Pasta Evangelists has stepped up its partnership with food redistribution charity City Harvest, donating 14,000 portions of cheesy focaccia bread to support Londoners facing food poverty.
The freshly baked focaccias were collected on World Pasta Day (25 October 2025) from the company’s North Acton and redistributed the same day by City Harvest’s drivers to charities across the capital. The donations are delivered to food banks, soup kitchens, hostels, schools and community kitchens across London helping to feed more than 130,000 people each week.
City Harvest’s senior food sourcing manager Jami Dyck said: “We’re very pleased to be working more closely with Pasta Evangelists, who are well known for their authentic and delicious fresh pasta. It’s thanks to partners like them that we can deliver high-quality, nutritious food while avoiding waste.”
The restaurant and takeaway brand, founded in 2018, has grown from a small pasta delivery start-up into a national name with restaurants from Chiswick to Manchester Airport and in 2021 became part of Italian food company Barilla Group.
Pasta Evangelists co-founder Chris Rennoldson said: “Sharing and community are fundamentals in Italian culture – especially when it comes to food. Working with City Harvest ensures that nothing goes to waste and that good food from Acton reaches those who need it most.”
