Gunnersbury Park & Museum has appointed a new head of commercial as the Grade II* listed heritage site looks “to ensure financial sustainability for future generations and the benefit of the whole community”.
Elizabeth Coningsby brings extensive experience in the museum and heritage sector, having most recently worked at the Natural History Museum as a senior business improvement lead, where she was responsible for maximising income from the institution’s special exhibition programme.
Her track record also includes working at the Design Museum, where she launched the Design Museum Academy – an income-generating learning and workshop initiative aimed at broadening access and revenue.
She has also supported smaller institutions as a museum development officer and worked in government education funding, developing partnerships across west London.
Ms Coningsby said: “I’m very pleased to join the team and use my previous experience at some of London’s most well-loved museums to help the team bring Gunnersbury Park & Museum’s rich cultural resources and leisure assets to a UK-wide audience. It is my aim to ensure financial sustainability for future generations and the benefit of the whole community.”
