Ealing Council is set to open a new learning zone in West Ealing next month (October 2025), offering residents the chance to build and improve digital skills, access job support and explore further education.
The borough’s fifth learning zone will launch on 3 October 2025 at West Ealing Community Library with a special event taking place from 10.30am to 1.30pm. The opening, organised by Learn Ealing – Ealing Council’s adult learning and skills team – will include free activities on using artificial intelligence in daily life, work-ready skills, money management and digital tools. Children can also join a maths fun fair, with puzzles and games, accompanied by a parent or carer.
Other learning zones in the borough are located in Acton, Northolt and Southall libraries, and in Hanwell Community Centre, with new sites planned for Greenford and Perivale in the coming months.
Learning zones provide residents with training and employment support, as well as access to public computers, free Wi-Fi and guidance on online services. Since the first one opened in Northolt in 2022, Ealing Council has said hundreds of people have improved their digital literacy and secured work.
Councillor Kamaljit Nagpal, cabinet member for decent living incomes, said: “Our learning zones are a brilliant way to make education and training accessible to everyone. They are part of our plan to ensure everyone has the chance to get a good, well-paid job.
“Digital skills are important for work, learning and daily life. The learning zones bring us one step closer to giving everyone access to the devices and skills they need to get online.”
