Ealing has emerged as one of the most stable parts of the country for marriages, according to an analysis of official government data.
Research by Reiss Edwards Family Law, using the latest data from the Office for National Statistics, places the borough fourteenth in England for the lowest divorce rates.
Of the 172,100 residents who have ever been married in Ealing, 20,490 are now divorced or have had civil partnerships dissolved. That equates to 11.91% – almost a fifth lower than the national average of 14.7%.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Amar Ali, managing director of Reiss Edwards Family Law, said: “Ealing stands out as one of the areas in England with relatively low divorce rates, with just under 12% of people who have ever married now divorced. This suggests that relationships in the borough tend to be more stable compared with the national average.
“The mix of family-friendly neighbourhoods, local community connections, and a strong focus on long-term relationships could all be helping couples stay together. Overall, the data shows that many couples in Ealing are maintaining lasting partnerships, highlighting the borough as a place where long-term relationships continue to thrive.”
Neighbouring boroughs also feature prominently. Harrow tops the national table with just 8.47% of residents divorced, a figure 42.4% below the countrywide level. Redbridge follows in second place with 9.57%, while further down the list Hounslow (11.93%) and Barnet (11.99%) also rank among the least-divorced areas.
Outside London, Wokingham in Berkshire comes third with 10.87%, while St Albans (11.06%) and Epsom and Ewell (11.09%) round out the top five. Other areas in the top 20 include Slough, Leicester, Kingston upon Thames and South Cambridgeshire.
