Ealing charities appeal for new trustees

Residents across Ealing are being invited to explore becoming charity trustees at a free event next month aimed at helping local organisations find new people of all backgrounds to join their boards.

The trustee matching event, organised by Young Ealing Foundation and Ealing and Hounslow Community and Voluntary Service, will take place at Perceval House in Ealing Broadway on 4 June 2026 between 5.15pm and 7.30pm.

Local charities attending will have the opportunity to meet residents interested in becoming trustees and explain more about the work their organisations do in the community.

The evening will also include talks from existing trustees about their experiences and what the role involves, as well as a speech from Ealing Council chief executive Tony Clements on the role trustees play in supporting community organisations across the borough.

Organisers said people do not need previous trustee experience to attend and there is no obligation to sign up on the night.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Elly Heaton, chief executive of Young Ealing Foundation, said: “Small charities are driven by passion and lived experience. Trustees are what help turn that passion into something sustainable.”

Ms Heaton added: “The best trustees don’t just govern from a distance, they bring challenge, credibility, connections and perspective. A great board gives grassroots organisations the stability and confidence to focus on what matters most: supporting their communities.”
