Plans for a late-night private members’ club in West Ealing have been withdrawn after attracting objections from police, council officers and local residents.
The application, submitted by Bianca Ailincai, sought permission for The Angels Club at 25 Broadway to sell alcohol until 3.30am and remain open until 4am. The proposed venue would have operated as a private members’ club offering Bollywood and belly dancing performances.
The proposal had been due to go before Ealing Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee on Wednesday (10 June 2026).
However, the application was withdrawn before councillors could consider it and no reason for the decision has been given.
The bid was the third attempt to secure a licence for the venue after two previous applications were refused by councillors in 2024.
One of the most significant objections came from the Metropolitan Police, which raised concerns about the safety of dancers expected to perform at the club.
In papers submitted to the council ahead of the hearing, PC Anu Mittu, for the Metropolitan Police, said officers were not satisfied that women working at the venue would be adequately protected.
PC Mittu said: “At this time, police have concerns regarding the safety of the women that will be dancing at the premises and there are no conditions in the operating schedule that would allay the police’s fears.”
Police also questioned whether measures proposed by the applicant would be sufficient to safeguard performers and raised concerns about the venue’s layout and facilities for dancers.
The application also attracted objections from council licensing officers, the Walpole Residents’ Association and local residents.
It is not known whether a revised application will be submitted.
