Eight abandoned and damaged vehicles were removed from Elveden Road in the Hanger Hill ward area of Ealing earlier this month (14 November 2025), following ongoing complaints from local councillors, residents and businesses about blocked access, clutter and waste dumping.
The clear-up, by Labour-run Ealing Council, follows a similar operation in September 2025 when 11 vehicles were taken away from the same stretch of road near the North Circular. Liberal Democrat councillors, who represent the ward say they have repeatedly raised concerns about the build-up of unroadworthy or long-abandoned cars in the area.
Among the vehicles removed was a Mercedes with three outstanding penalty charge notices. Council records reveal that 27 parking tickets were issued on Elveden Road in January 2025, with only two paid. Reports of suspected misuse of trade plates have also been passed to the DVLA.
Residents and businesses say the long-term presence of abandoned vehicles has restricted access for deliveries and waste services, and caused difficulties for emergency vehicles.
Jonathan Oxley, Liberal Democrat councillor for Hanger Hill, said: “Liberal Democrats continue to act on this important issue, working with council officers and police to address this persistent problem.”
