MPs and parliamentary staff sampled food and drink from Park Royal’s industrial estate at a showcase event held in Westminster last week (7 January 2026).
The “Taste of Park Royal” event, hosted by Ealing Central and Acton MP Dr Rupa Huq, took place in the Jubilee Room off Westminster Hall and featured products from a range of food businesses based on the estate, including Doughlicious, Dina Foods, Cypressa and Sxollie cider.
Park Royal is one of London’s largest and oldest industrial estates and home to around 1,700 businesses and employs more than 40,000 people.
Dr Huq said the event aimed to highlight the scale and diversity of production concentrated in a single industrial estate, noting that similar parliamentary showcases often represent entire counties.
She said: “I’m really delighted to have shone a light on the well kept secret of Park Royal Industrial Estate in the mother of all Parliaments. It has over a century of history behind it from knocking out warplanes, printing the Radio Times to the yummy world food that all of central London, even media studios. It’s a source of pride that the Big Brother House is in my seat and more tv shows and films than I can mention were filmed there.
“When other MPs have similar events it is for “Taste of Shropshire” or an entire county but we had a room full from just one industrial estate with many more who wanted to exhibit but couldn’t for reasons of physical space”.
Andrew Dakers, chief executive of the Park Royal Business Group, said the estate’s reputation as “London’s kitchen” reflected its role in keeping the capital supplied with food on a daily basis.
Dawn Butler, the Brent East MP, also addressed attendees, describing Park Royal as a complex network of factories and warehouses supporting industries ranging from food production to advanced manufacturing.
Wilda Haddad of Dina Foods said the event helped raise awareness of Park Royal among people unfamiliar with the area, adding that showcasing the businesses in parliament had been “truly memorable”.
