Ealing is among 17 outer London areas being targeted for expansion by Whitbread, the owner of Premier Inn, which says it wants to add more than 2,200 rooms and is looking at locations in Greenford, Acton and Old Oak Common.
In a statement, Whitbread said it has not opened a new Premier Inn in outer London since 2022 and believes demand from leisure and business travellers is being left unmet.
Whitbread already has Premier Inn sites in Ealing Broadway, Hanger Lane and Perivale.
The company said it is seeking to work with councils, landowners and developers to bring forward new Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn hotels, with acquisitions and development manager James Hall leading the search.
Mr Hall said Whitbread was “flexible in the opportunities” it would consider, pointing to previous London projects including office-to-hotel conversions and new-build developments. He said the company was keen to build on existing relationships with councils and developers and to create new ones to support its expansion plans.
