Southall’s Spice Village backs Ramadan appeal

A Southall restaurant will donate £1 from every customer bill during Ramadan to support families observing the holy month in hardship.

Spice Village, based in Southall Broadway, is taking part in a month-long fundraising campaign in partnership with the humanitarian charity Human Appeal. The initiative will run throughout Ramadan, with contributions from diners going towards the charity’s Feed the Fasting appeal.

The restaurant group, which also has a branch in Tooting, said the campaign aims to help provide meals for those breaking their fast in the UK and overseas. Human Appeal operates emergency relief and development programmes in more than 20 countries.

Suleman Raza, chief executive of Spice Village Group, said: “Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity and community. Through ‘Savour the Spirit of Ramadan’, we’re proud to partner with Human Appeal and invite our customers to join us in supporting families who need it most.”

Funds raised will be presented to the charity at a formal event later this month.
