The first deadline for residents, schools and community groups to enter this year’s Ealing Biodiversity Awards is fast approaching.
Run by Cultivating Ealing and supported by Ealing Council and ActforEaling, the annual awards celebrate wildlife-friendly gardens and green spaces that help nature thrive across the borough.
Categories include school gardens, allotments, front gardens, balconies, terraces, micro gardens and community spaces, with cash prizes on offer for winning entries.
Applications for the school garden and allotment categories close on Friday (5 June 2026), while entries for front gardens, balconies, terraces, micro gardens and community spaces remain open until 3 July 2026.
Greener Ealing, Ealing Council’s waste collection, street cleansing and grounds maintenance company, is this year’s headline sponsor, while Leslie & Co Estate Agents and Tom Boswell Tree Services Ltd are sponsoring the schools and allotments categories respectively.
Judges say they will be looking for projects that provide habitats and food sources for wildlife, including birds, bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. Winners will be announced later this year.
