An alumna from Ealing’s University of West London is one of the newest cast members of the West End production of Wicked after securing a leading role in the show.
Yara Fabricante, who studied at the university’s London College of Music, will make her West End debut as Nessarose in the 20th anniversary cast at Apollo Victoria Theatre from next month (19 May 2026).
Originally from Qatar, she moved to London in 2022 to study on the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course and graduated last summer.
During her final year, Ms Fabricante appeared in student productions of Anyone Can Whistle and Nine, before gaining acting representation after the college showcase and progressing through a competitive audition process.
Ms Fabricante said: “The course gets you out of your comfort zone in the best way possible. It opens you up to things you never thought you could do.”
She added: “The staff here are very supportive and always ready to help and guide you. That helped me the most when it came to building my career path.”
Gillan Ford, course leader for BA (Hons) Musical Theatre, said: “It is incredibly rare for a graduate’s first professional role to be a principal part in the West End. Yara was a fantastic student throughout her time at the College, and we are immensely proud of her.”
