Match report: Hanwell Town 1 v Dover Athletic 2

A historic Saturday (3 October 2026) afternoon in West London with a competitive record of 1,057 attendance saw Dover Athletic advance with goals from Baptiste and Sheriff cancelling out a Hanwell Town equaliser from Snee.

The first half started the way of the hosts with Hanwell having the better chances through a Snee freekick.

Eight minutes in, Dover Athletic took the lead. A low cross into the box was spilled by Beasant and Baptiste was waiting to tap home from close range.

After going ahead, the visitors looked to extend their lead. Besant was beaten to a cross and the ball bounced around before being stabbed towards goal.

However, Nditi made a heroic goal line block with his face.

Heading towards the break, Dover continued to create chances but the Hanwell defence stood strong and kept their advantage to one.
The first half ended with Dover leading one nil.

The Geordies started the second half the better team, creating chances but nothing clear cut.

56 minutes in, the Geordies equalised. A deep cross from Turner was nodded down by Duncan, finding Snee open and allowing him to head past Walker.
However, 15 minutes from full time, Dover took the lead. A chipped ball found Sheriff in the box and he fired high past Beasant.

The Geordies pushed into added time to find an equaliser, with Nditi coming the closest.

After six added minutes, the referee called full time with Dover Athletic advancing in the FA Cup, however Hanwell put up a valiant performance.
