A 19-year-old boxer from Ealing who opted to turn professional rather than pursue the 2028 Olympics is set to make his pro debut after signing with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.
Mohammed ‘Manny’ Safari, who was born and raised in Ealing and attended Dormers Wells High School in Southall, will fight professionally for the first time on 17 October 2026 on the Daniel Dubois v Fabio Wardley 2 undercard in London.
Safari started boxing at the age of 10 and has gone on to win 12 national titles and several European medals during his amateur career.
His final year as an amateur saw him win the Youth European title and be named England Boxing’s Boxer of the Year in autumn 2025.
Safari has now signed a long-term promotional agreement with Queensberry Promotions as he begins his professional career.
He has been trained by his father, Saf Safari, who has spent the past nine years taking his son to training sessions and competitions across the country.
Safari said: “I’m super excited to be turning professional and signing with Queensberry is a dream come true.
“Even though I’m young and I could’ve opted to go for the Olympics in 2028, my family and I believe now is the right time to start a new chapter and with the help of my management, BXG, I’m very happy to be starting the journey with the best promoter and platform.
“I have big ambitions and I look forward to making Ealing proud, making my debut as a professional and eventually bringing home the world championship in the future.”
