Two new toilets, including an accessible toilet with a baby changing facility, and a refurbished waiting room have opened at Acton Central station.
Acton Central, which dates back to 1853, has been upgraded with step-free access to the waiting room, additional seating and more space for passengers.
The new facilities, which include better lighting, new planting and a lowered ceiling to improve acoustics and reduce echo were officially opened on Wednesday (1 July 2026).
The improvements were carried out by First Rail London, which operates the London Overground on behalf of Transport for London (TfL), with funding from Railway Heritage.
First Rail London customer service director Niall Rooney said the aim was to ensure everyone felt “confident and comfortable” using public transport.
TfL customer director Emma Strain said the improvements would help remove barriers to travel and make the network more accessible for people with a range of needs.
