Ealing Conservatives have paid tribute to three former councillors who were not re-elected following this month’s (7 May 2026) local Ealing Council elections.
Among those recognised by the party was veteran councillor Anthony Young, who lost in Hanger Hill after serving on Ealing Council for 48 years. More recently, he represented Ealing Broadway ward on the council.
Former councillor Fabio Conti, who previously represented Hanger Hill, lost in Northolt West End after seven years on the council, while former councillor Seema Kumar narrowly missed out on re-election in Ealing Broadway by just 17 votes after serving for 16 years.
In a statement, Ealing Conservatives said: “We gave a special thanks to Anthony Young, Seema Kumar, and Fabio Conti. Anthony stood down after being an Ealing councillor for 48 years, Fabio after being a councillor for seven years and leading our election campaign as chairman, and Seema sadly missed out by 17 votes after 16 years as a councillor.”
The party added: “We will miss their contributions in the council chamber, but are looking forward to contributions from our next generation: Councillors Flora, Kristian and Ajay in North Greenford, and Councillor Sean in Ealing Broadway. All of whom are learning the ropes from our Conservative group leader, Councillor Julian Gallant.”
Before the election, Labour held 56 seats on Ealing Council, with the Liberal Democrats on eight, Conservatives four and two independents. Following the 7 May 2026 election, Labour remains the largest party with 46 seats, while the Liberal Democrats increased their representation to 13 councillors. The Conservatives now have five seats, the Green Party won five, and there is one independent councillor.
