West Ealing residents evacuated after fire

Around 40 residents evacuated a block of flats in West Ealing after a balcony fire broke out this morning (12 March 2026).

Six fire engines and about 40 firefighters were called to The Avenue at 11.02am, according to the London Fire Brigade. Crews found a fire on a fourth-floor balcony of a 13-storey building.

The balcony was almost completely destroyed and part of the adjoining flat was damaged by the blaze. About 40 people left the building before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

Fire crews from Acton, Southall, Heston and surrounding stations attended the incident. The fire was brought under control by 12.33pm.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the brigade’s fire investigation unit.
