Nearly three quarters of Year 6 pupils in Ealing have been offered a place at their first-choice secondary school.
Figures released on National Secondary Offer Day (2 March 2026) revealed that 72.9% of applicants in the borough secured a place at their first preference school for entry to Year 7 this September.
The figure is above the London average of 70.5% and places Ealing 10th out of the capital’s 33 boroughs.
Overall, 88.6% of pupils moving from primary school were offered a place at one of their top three preferred secondary schools. Across London, the average for pupils securing one of their top three choices is slightly higher at 89.6%.
Councillor Josh Blacker, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for a fairer start, said: “These figures are a real testament to the strength of our local schools and the hard work of families and education staff across the borough.
“I am delighted that so many children received their first choice secondary school, and that almost nine in ten secured one of their top three preferences.”
Families who applied before the deadline should have received an email confirming their offer. They must accept or decline the place by 16 March 2026.
