Acton Odeon food hygiene rating falls to 2

The Odeon Luxe cinema in Acton has been given a food hygiene rating of 2 out of 5 following a recent inspection by environmental health officers, down from a previous 5 out of 5 top rating.

The cinema, located at Royale Leisure Park off Western Avenue, received the 2 rating from the Food Standards Agency, meaning “improvement is necessary”.

The low rating followed an inspection carried out by officers from Ealing Council on 16 February 2026, marking a drop from the previous 5 rating – meaning ‘very good’ – awarded on 10 October 2025.

Food hygiene ratings assess standards including how food is handled, the cleanliness of facilities and how well food safety procedures are managed. Businesses are rated on a scale from 0 to 5 under the Food Standards Agency’s hygiene rating scheme: 0 (urgent improvement necessary), 1 (major improvement necessary), 2 (improvement necessary), 3 (generally satisfactory), 4 (good) and 5 (very good).

An Odeon spokesperson told Ealing News: “At Odeon, we take our food safety and hygiene responsibilities extremely seriously and have clear processes in place across our cinemas. Following the recent Food Standards Agency inspection at Odeon Luxe Acton, we are working closely with the local authority and our specialist partners to address the points raised.”
