An Acton fish and chip shop has been named among the UK’s top three in two categories at the National Fish & Chip Awards 2026.
Stones Fish & Chips was shortlisted for both the Marketing Initiative Award and the Training and Development Award at the industry’s annual ceremony, organised by the National Federation of Fish Friers.
The awards, now in their 38th year and sponsored by Seafood from Norway, are regarded as the official competition for the UK’s 10,500 fish and chip shops and took place on 25 February 2026.
The Marketing Initiative Award was won by The Scrap Box in York, Yorkshire, while the Training and Development Award went to Yarm Road Fish & Chips in Darlington, County Durham.
The Scrap Box in York also scooped the prestigious Takeaway of the Year title.
Amine Chaouche, owner and managing director of Stones Fish & Chips, told EALING.NEWS: “Being named a UK Top 3 finalist in both categories makes us incredibly proud. For us, entering the awards isn’t about winning; it’s about raising our standards and pushing ourselves to improve.
“We focus on effort over results, because when standards are high and effort is consistent, results follow. We believe in building strong habits and improving by 1% every day — small gains that compound over time. We’re proud to represent Acton on a national stage and grateful for the support of our local community.”
Andrew Crook, president of the National Federation of Fish Friers, said: “What a year it has been for the National Fish & Chip Awards! We don’t make it easy to progress through the assessments as benchmarks are always set extremely high. This ensures shortlisted businesses and individuals truly know about serving superb quality meals for customers and they are contributing to the growth of sector by innovating where possible, investing in their operations and people, and being exceptional advocates for the trade.”
