Police seize drug paraphernalia from Greenford Broadway shop

Metropolitan Police have seized items linked to drug use from a shop on Greenford Broadway after officers said the business ignored a formal warning to stop selling the products.

The Greenford Broadway Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by Ealing Council’s Safer Communities team, visited the shop on Wednesday (19 November 2025) after concerns were raised about illegal and harmful goods being sold. Officers said they had previously told the business not to stock equipment associated with the preparation, consumption or supply of illegal drugs.

Police have not named the shop, saying only: “The investigation will now continue, and further updates will be issued in due course.”

According to the Metropolitan Police, the items remained on sale despite the warning. Officers removed them under Section 9A of the Misuse of Drugs Act, which makes it an offence to sell or supply articles intended for administering or preparing controlled substances.

A spokesperson for the team said: “We always try to engage and work with local businesses first and support them to operate legally. However, where guidance is ignored and products continue to be sold unlawfully, enforcement action will be taken.”

Police described the operation as part of wider efforts to reduce drug-related harm, safeguard vulnerable people and maintain a safe environment for residents, businesses and visitors in the area.

Anyone with information about drug activity is encouraged to contact police on 101 or report concerns anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
