There is still time for pupils across the borough to enter Ealing Council’s annual Christmas card competition, now in its fifth year, with submissions open until this Sunday (16 November 2025).
The winning card, based on the theme ‘Christmas in our towns’, will be used across the council by its cabinet members, chief executive and senior council officers to send festive greetings.
The competition is open to anyone who attends a school in the borough and is 18 or younger. There are three categories, six and under, 7-11 and 12-18 years and one overall winner.
In 2024, the overall winner was 12-year-old Bianca Mocanescu .
Ealing Council leader Councillor Peter Mason said: “Each year, our Christmas card competition showcases the wonderful creativity and talent of the children across the borough. This year’s theme, Christmas in Our Town, invites them to celebrate our local landmarks over the festive period, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this year’s theme inspires them. It is always a joy to share their artwork with others when I send out my Christmas cards.”
The Council says “Whether you’re inspired by the borough’s picturesque parks, iconic landmarks, or everyday moments with people that are special to you, there’s endless space for your creativity to flourish.”
The competition will be judged by Councillor Mason; Councillor Louise Brett, deputy leader and cabinet member for safe and genuinely affordable homes, and Councillor Josh Blacker, cabinet member for a fairer start.
Closing date for the competition is 5pm on 16 November 2025.
To enter, young artists will need to send a photo or a scanned image and say their age and category they are entering along with name and school. All entrants also need to include contact details of their parent, carer or teacher.
The artwork needs to be A4 in size and in landscape format and the image emailed to: smilliew@ealing.gov.uk
