Ealing Broadway shopping centre is recruiting its first-ever CFO – but rather than a corporate heavyweight, it wants a child to take on the title of chief fun officer.
The centre is on the hunt to find a youngster aged between six and twelve who will be paid not in cash, but in free food, games and gifts in exchange for honest reviews.
The successful applicant will spend a day sampling what the centre has to offer. That includes being one of the first to try Gutterball, a new leisure venue combining bowling, karaoke, darts and arcade games. Other perks include testing the latest menu at Comptoir Libanais, choosing a book from Waterstones and potting a plant to take home from Greenka.
Ealing Broadway says the aim is to ensure the shopping centre appeals to families looking for more than just retail.
Andrew Rollings, the centre’s director, said: “This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a child to become our new chief fun officer will be the ultimate test to see how we shape up, and we can’t wait to welcome the lucky recruit.”
Applications must be submitted by parents or guardians before the deadline of 7 October. Children are asked to explain why they would make the ideal candidate.
