Central Middlesex Hospital orthopaedic centre celebrates first year

The North West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC), based at Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal, has celebrated its first year by gaining accreditation to NHS England’s ‘Getting it Right First Time’ programme.

The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust operated centre, which opened in December 2023 and cost £9.4m, has treated over 3,000 patients with most of the procedures being knee and hip replacements. According to the Trust, the centre was established to enable shorter wait times for surgery.

EOC Medical Director, Matt Bartlett said: “Accreditation is a huge achievement for the EOC team. The assessors not only noted our fabulous building and the excellent facilities, but acknowledged a great culture at the EOC, with staff who are ‘full of ideas, solutions and innovations’.”

Mr Bartlett added: “Harnessing these will pay dividends for patients right across north west London for many years to come.”
