Padel social helps support work of W4 Youth

A fundraising evening to support the work of W4 Youth has seen padel players and sporting celebrities attend Rocks Lane in Chiswick.

The special Rocks Lane Tennis Social saw Rocks Lane founder Chris Warren joined by Aimee Fuller, the two times Olympian British snowboarder, help raise awareness of W4 Youth’s fundraiser to expand the work the group does as well as help to build a new youth and community centre at Acton’s Southfield recreation ground.

Sally Chacatté, W4 Youth founder and chair, said: “Massive thanks to Rocks Lane for this wonderful event and their continued support in our journey to expand the work we do with the young people in our community. The W4 Youth fundraising tree is now located at Rocks Lane and we thank everyone for their donations supporting us to give more young people free activities and a place to belong.”

Local Councillor and W4 Youth trustee, Gary Malcolm added: “Our aim is to continue to provide a safe space, to bring out the star in everyone of us, enabling potential beyond the game and well into adulthood. As part of this we look forward to meeting residents and businesses in the community who can support us as funding partners to build a youth and community centre that will help young people with that safe space in years to come.”

Chris Warren, founder of Rocks Lane said: “I have fond memories of our local youth club in Yorkshire where I first picked up a racket and knocked a ball around and the rest is history. We want to give the opportunity to every child to pick up a racket, kick a ball or shoot a hoop.”
