Last weekend (28 September – 29 September 2024) saw the annual Visit My Mosque take place and the EHCVS Cancer Awareness Project joined with other groups at West London Islamic Centre for it.
This year’s Visit My Mosque was around Sharing Themes and in association with cancer charity Macmillan, members of the EHCVS Cancer Awareness Project provided information on cancer and support on offer for residents across the borough,
A spokesperson said: “Sharing stories is one of the many things that the EHCVS Cancer Awareness Project does, so we were delighted to be joining people from many parts of the community and from many faiths at West Ealing Mosque.”
The spokesperson added: “The Macmillan stall, which was manned by our champions was busy with lots of people asking questions and asking for Macmillan booklets and leaflets. This was followed by a prostate and breast cancer awareness talk to a packed audience.”
For more information on help and support offered by Macmillan, call 0808 808 00 00 or visit its website.
EHCVS is also inviting residents across the borough to let them know if they can offer cancer awareness talks to locals in the community. To find out more, email ana@ehcvs.org.uk.
