Proposed W4 Youth community hub wants to hear from locals

Chiswick charity W4 Youth held a community feedback day earlier this month (5 July 2025) at Southfield Recreation Ground, inviting residents to view and discuss plans for a proposed new community hub.

Trustees, including W4 Youth founder and chair Sally Chacatté and Southfields ward Liberal Democrat councillor Gary Malcolm, were on hand to speak with locals and gather input.

The draft proposals set out the vision for a multi-functional hub aimed at bringing people of all ages together. At the heart of the plans are three distinct but complementary areas. These include a cafe run by a local owner with its own entrance – described as “the perfect spot to relax, connect, or grab a coffee whilst visiting the park.”

Alongside this, a nursery operated by a trusted local provider will feature a secure outdoor garden, promising “a safe and inspiring space for our youngest community members.”

The hub will also house a flexible community area comprising a large multi-purpose studio, two adaptable meeting rooms that can double as changing areas, and fully accessible shower and toilet facilities.

Ms Chacatté said: “It was great to hear from residents who use the park and were so supportive of the community hub proposal.  We would love to hear everyone in the community’s views and so please do go online to complete the feedback survey.”
