An injury-depleted Hanwell Town were beaten 2-0 by local rivals, Uxbridge, on Monday afternoon (6 April 2026).
With Uxbridge on an eight-match unbeaten streak, a trip to the Honeycroft stadium was always going to be a tough assignment for the Geordies – made even harder by having nine players unavailable for selection. In the end, goals from Troy Perez-Duah and Gabe Cuthbert saw the home side run out comfortable winners.
Hanwell did have chances. In the first 20 minutes, Henry Snee stung the hands of Uxbridge’s keeper and Seidou Sanogo fired over.
But on the half hour mark, it was Sanogo who was guilty of some clumsy defending which saw Frank Keita go down in the penalty area and the referee point to the spot. Perez-Duah subsequently converted.
Similar to the first, the second half started with some early Hanwell chances. Harvey Bradbury had a goal disallowed for offside, before Sanogo again blazed over after some good interplay with Sean Fraser.
In the 66th minute though, Uxbridge landed their knockout blow after a loopy Cuthbert header found the back of the net.
On a sunny bank holiday afternoon, the home side were afforded a laidback remainder of the game as Hanwell asked very few further questions. Led by Portsmouth loanee, Ciaran Martin – who was particularly excellent – Uxbridge were deserving of all three points.
After two losses on the bounce and still with an eye on the relegation zone, 14th placed Hanwell return to The Oliver Connell & Son Community Stadium on Saturday 11 April 2026 as they face 16th placed Weymouth.
