Ealing Liberal Democrats have launched an online survey inviting residents in the borough to share what they want from the council ahead of the May 2026 local elections.
Councillor Gary Malcolm, leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Ealing Council, said the initiative is to help shape the party’s manifesto by drawing directly on public opinion.
Councillor Malcolm said: “Liberal Democrats believe in our community first and asking the public what they want to happen in Ealing and how we can improve council services is a part of it. With less than a year to go to the local elections to Ealing Council, we are starting to prepare our manifesto and would like your input.”
The Lib Dems, who serve as the official opposition to Labour, point to a record of campaigning on local concerns. They claim successes in persuading the council to reverse plans to dim street lighting, arguing that brighter streets improve safety, and in pressing for the removal of underperforming tree contractors.
Other areas they say they have been involved in include supporting residents housed by the council in shipping containers in Acton and Hanwell to secure safer housing, leading opposition to development plans at Warren Farm – a site home to endangered species – and blocking proposals that would have weakened protections for green belt and open space.
