Ealing Lib Dems reselect Southfield councillors ahead of 2026 local elections

With less than a year to go before the next local elections in Ealing on 7 May 2026, three long-serving Liberal Democrat councillors have been reselected to stand for their party in the Southfield ward.

Councillors Gary Malcolm, Gary Busuttil and Andrew Steed were unanimously endorsed by party members at a meeting held yesterday (19 June 2025).

Collectively, the trio brings over four decades of service: Councillor Malcolm has served for 23 years, Councillor Steed for 12 and Councillor Busuttil for 8.

Councillor Gary Malcolm, who is also the leader of Ealing Liberal Democrats said: “Liberal Democrats in Southfield are proud that we listen to residents and keep fighting for what they want to see for their area. It was great news recently when the council agreed to install a crossing on Southfield Road to help reduce traffic speeds and road accidents. Liberal Democrats across the borough are fighting to stop Labour’s children’s centres closures.”
