A group of Southall residents is set to publish a report on Friday (27 March 2026) highlighting their concerns over how Labour-run Ealing Council is meeting the needs of local communities.
The report, titled “Paying the Price: Broken Promises and Dangerous Practices”, and produced by Community Powered Reporting, details what the group describes as systemic issues affecting Southall. It will be launched at Saklatvala Hall on Dominion Road.
The launch of the report comes ahead of local elections taking place across the borough on 7 May 2026.
Community Powered Reporting says it is “a resident-led, community-focused research group campaigning for change. We are a self-funded, non-profit volunteer group from Southall and Ealing.”
Among its concerns include fly-tipping, a shortage of affordable housing, the sale of community assets and poor health outcomes. It also raises questions about what is described as “undemocratic and unethical leadership”, alongside claims of broken promises by the council.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Concerned Southall residents have come together as Community Powered Reporting to produce an analysis report about Ealing Council’s failure to meet the needs of Southall, the most deprived ward in the borough.”
The spokesperson added: “As we approach the election period, we want to ensure residents are presented with evidence among the propaganda. All residents will have access to a digital version of the report on the day of the event. The event itself will offer concerned residents the opportunity to discuss what Southall really needs from council leadership and how to make that a reality.”
