North Acton Square to host summer events

North Acton Square, next to the Central Line’s North Acton Underground Station, will host food markets, craft stalls, live music and DJ sessions this summer after securing funding through the Mayor of London’s Summer Streets programme.

The City Hall funding will support a series of public events designed to attract more visitors to the square while encouraging people to spend time at local cafés, restaurants and businesses.

The programme will include food and craft markets organised by Standard Markets, alongside early evening Summer Sessions featuring DJs and live music.

The announcement forms part of the Mayor of London’s wider Summer Streets initiative, which is investing almost £500,000 in projects across 13 London boroughs to support al fresco dining, outdoor events and hospitality during the summer and into autumn.

Bassam Mahfouz, London Assembly Member for Ealing and Hillingdon, said: “North Acton Square has been transformed with the new businesses that have set up there and creating a vibrant space, rather than just a dull entrance to the station.

“This funding will ensure it’s a place to go this summer including DJs and live music to really be a destination that brings this space to life.

“It’s part of an exciting investment across the capital to help bring summer fun and funds to local businesses who are the lifeline of the community.”
