Southall man jailed after running drugs network from prison

A Southall man has been jailed for more than 12 years after police said he continued directing a west London drugs network while serving a prison sentence.

Hardeep Thind, 48, also known as Harry Singh, of Wentworth Road, was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court on Thursday (25 June 2026) after admitting two counts of being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine. His sentence also included dangerous driving.

Police say Thind was the man giving the orders. While serving a 17-year sentence for earlier drugs and firearms offences, detectives believe he continued directing the operation from an open prison using a mobile phone. When he was released in October 2024, they say he quickly re-established the business, recruiting dealers in Southall and Hayes.

That came to an end last July when officers carried out a series of dawn raids across west London. They seized heroin, crack cocaine, cash, scales, mobile phones and drug packaging. The drugs recovered during the investigation had an estimated street value of £174,000.

Three other members of the group were sentenced in the same case. Former magistrate Purshotam Dhillon, 59, of Hounslow, was jailed for seven years after a jury found he allowed drugs to be stored and packaged at his home. Bikramjit Brar, 46, of Hayes, was jailed for three years and four months, while Leandrea Lynch, 49, also of Hayes, received a suspended prison sentence.

Detective Inspector Mark Gavin, from the Met’s Specialist Crime team, said: “This was a complex and far-reaching investigation that uncovered a well-established organised crime network responsible for supplying significant quantities of Class A drugs across London.”

He added: “The team’s extensive work enabled us to identify, disrupt and dismantle a group whose actions would have been causing serious harm to communities.”
