Samaritans bring Christmas cheer to Ealing Broadway

Commuters and travellers using Ealing Broadway Station on Thursday (19 December 2024) evening got into the festive season with supporters of the west London branch of Samaritans singing carols.

David Arch, co-director of the Ealing, Hammersmith & Hounslow Samaritans branch said: “We were delighted at the support we had tonight and the reaction of the public who were so generous with their donations to support the service being offered 365 days a year by our 120 volunteers.”

The volunteers from the South Ealing-based Samaritans branch will be on call with over 200 other Samaritans branches across the UK and Ireland who are on duty 24/7 over the festive season to answer calls for help from people.

Mr Arch added: “Winter can be a hard time for many and this year could be especially so as households brace themselves for higher bills. A call to 116 123 means that there is no need to struggle alone.”
