Errol Charles, the owner of Bossa Nova Cafe, a coffee shop based in South Ealing outlines his concerns over fly-tipping in the area and the impact it is having on his business and the local community.
“I don’t usually post things like this… but today (19 March 2026), I’ve had enough.
“Fly tipping behind local shops in South Ealing is becoming a serious and ongoing problem — and it’s completely unacceptable.
“This morning (again), I was outside behind my shop at 7–8am, in gloves, cleaning up someone else’s household waste, including rotting meat.
“Previously, I’ve had to clear up used sanitary waste as well.
“Let me be very clear, this is not my job.
“I am a small business owner. I pay thousands of pounds every year for professional pest control to protect my café and maintain my 5 star hygiene rating with the council.
“When people dump waste like this, it:
• Attracts rats and pests
• Puts my business at risk
• Threatens my hygiene rating
• Creates a health hazard for everyone
“And yet I’m the one left cleaning it up. How is that fair?
“To the person (or people) responsible — you know who you are. This is your warning.
“Any further incidents will be:
• Reported directly to the council
• Logged as environmental health concerns
• Escalated where necessary
“There are proper ways to dispose of your waste.
“Dumping it behind local businesses is selfish, disrespectful, and unacceptable.
“To the wider community — please help keep South Ealing clean. We all deserve better than this.
“Enough is enough.”
