Ealing’s UWL improves its sustainability ranking

Ealing’s University of West London (UWL) has improved its position in the 2026 Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Rankings, rising from the 601–800 band last year to the 301–400 band this year.

The rankings assess 1,646 universities worldwide against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

UWL was also ranked among the world’s top 74 universities for its contribution towards reducing inequalities.

Other improvements included moving into the 101–200 band for climate action and rising to the 401–600 band for decent work and economic growth. The university also maintained its 401–600 ranking for good health and wellbeing.

Claire Willitts, pro vice-chancellor (property, accommodation and sustainability), said: “This year’s results show how we are continuing to build momentum in embedding sustainability right across the university.”
