The number of people employed in the London Borough of Ealing fell by 1,397 over the past year, according to the latest data for February 2026.
Figures based on Office for National Statistics (ONS) payroll data show 182,216 people were in payrolled work in the borough, a decrease of 0.8% compared with the same month in 2025. The data, analysed by employment and pay app WageSight, also indicates a slight month-on-month dip, with payroll numbers down by 44.
Compared with other parts of the capital, Ealing ranked 20th out of 33 London boroughs for employment change, placing it among the weaker performers over the period.
Paul Hebden, director at WageSight, said: “The latest figures underline the continued pressure on employment in Ealing. Payroll remains down compared with last year, and recent month-on-month data suggests employers are still cutting back.”
