Ealing residents are being asked for their views on plans which will guide where new homes are built and how the borough and its seven towns – Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall – develop over the next 20 years.
The proposals form part of the Mayor of London’s draft London Plan, which sets out how the capital should grow and develop, covering housing, economic development, infrastructure, transport, environment and the protection of green spaces.
The plan sets housing targets for each London borough and includes policies on where new development can be built, housing density and the design and scale of buildings, including taller buildings. It also covers affordable housing and employment areas.
The consultation on the draft London Plan closes on 15 October 2026, with residents able to respond directly through the Mayor of London’s website.
Ealing Council, which is preparing its own response to the proposals, will hold a workshop at its Perceval House headquarters in Ealing Broadway next month (15 September 2026) from 6pm to 8pm.
Residents will be given an introduction to the proposals before taking part in group discussions, with their feedback contributing to the council’s consultation response.
Councillor Monica Hamidi, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for good growth, said: “The London Plan will play a major role in shaping how our borough develops in the years ahead, influencing everything from new homes and jobs to transport, infrastructure, and green spaces.
“This workshop is a valuable opportunity for residents to learn more about the proposals and tell us what matters most to them.”
