CEO of NHS trust running Ealing and Central Middlesex Hospitals to step down

The NHS trust that runs Ealing Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal is set to appoint a new chief executive after Pippa Nightingale announced she will step down later this summer to lead Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Ms Nightingale has served as chief executive of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) for the past four years. LNWH said a recruitment process for her successor will begin shortly under the governance arrangements of the new North West London Acute Provider Group.

During her time in the role, LNWH said it improved patient safety, reduced waiting lists and strengthened its financial position despite ongoing operational and financial pressures across the NHS.

The Trust which also runs Northwick Park Hospital, was recently ranked the most improved trust in London and the seventh most improved nationally.

Ms Nightingale said: “We’ve had an incredible year which includes being ranked the most improved trust in London and the seventh most improved across the country.

“We’ve seen real progress in patient safety and outcomes, big improvements in our waiting lists, so we see more patients sooner, and greater financial stability.”

David Moss, vice chair of LNWH, said: “Pippa has been a great CEO who has both delivered outstanding results during her tenure as well as being a real pleasure to work with.”

Professor Tim Orchard, group chief executive of the North West London Acute Provider Group, said: “On behalf of the Group, I want to thank Pippa for the major contribution she has made to LNWH, driving clear improvements in quality, performance and financial stability.

“She has also been a strong and influential leader across the wider north west London health system. I have greatly valued working with her and wish her every success in her next role.”
