Acton locals have raised concerns over piles of rubbish and scattered litter that are being left on Church Road for days, saying the waste has become an eyesore and is attracting vermin.
Residents have cited rubbish left outside Ruskin Hall, the Ealing Labour HQ at 16 Church Road, as one example. They say bags of rubbish and debris often remain on the pavement for long periods, raising concerns about waste management under Labour-run Ealing Council.
One local resident told EALING.NEWS that the situation had become a repeated issue rather than isolated incidents. The resident said: “This happens on too many occasions and makes the area unsightly and a mess. It is also attracting mice and rats to the area. Action needs to be taken.”

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Councillor Gary Malcolm, leader of Ealing Liberal Democrats, said: “In recent months the streets have been littered with fly-tips, litter or leaves. They often take so long to remove and many residents tell me that they have given up using the app or do not know about it. Ealing Council needs to be better at getting a better outcome from many of its contractors.”
A spokesperson for Ealing Council told EALING.NEWS: “We are sorry to see all the rubbish and litter people have left on Church Road. Properties in the area have received leaflets about the correct disposal of waste and recycling and properties on that street, which are on sack collections, have their waste collected on Fridays.
“Local councillors are working with flats that have a sack collection to promote better understanding of waste and recycling. Church Road is cleansed fortnightly and Wednesday 19 November was its scheduled cleansing day.
“We understand residents’ concerns around fly-tipping and we are cracking down on this criminal activity. Fly-tipping is a drain on council funds which would be better spent on services for residents and has a direct impact on the environment and our residents’ quality of life.
“We have more than doubled fly-tipping fines from £400 to £1,000 since May to send a clear message that illegal waste dumping will not be tolerated. Alongside this we launched an awareness campaign titled This is our home, not a tip which explains to our communities what fly tipping is, its impact and how everyone can help by disposing of waste correctly.
“Residents can report fly-tips or fly-tippers via the Love Clean Streets app or on our website.”
