Construction of a new £29.3 million teaching block at Villiers High School in Southall is due to start this spring, delivering 22 classrooms, 11 science laboratories and six ICT and media suites.
Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed by Ealing Council to deliver the scheme, which will replace an outdated 1960s building with a modern, energy-efficient facility designed to increase capacity and improve learning environments as demand for school places grows in Southall. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
The new building will include staff and welfare facilities, alongside a rooftop “sky garden” and outdoor learning space. Sustainability features such as air source heat pumps, solar panels and rainwater conservation systems are planned, with the school aiming to meet much of its energy demand independently.
Christopher Richards, headteacher at Villiers High School, said: “We have reached a pivotal moment for our community. Behind the scenes, we have been working to ensure these facilities meet the needs of our growing school, and this development will play a key role in delivering that vision.”
