Ealing’s University of West London (UWL) has celebrated the first group of learners to complete free short courses delivered in partnership with Hounslow Council to help its residents develop new skills.
Participants completed 14-week Introduction to Business and Introduction to Podcasting courses at Feltham Library before attending a certificate presentation at UWL’s Ealing campus.
The courses form part of the Future Hounslow Civic Agreement, which aims to improve access to education, skills development and employment opportunities through collaboration between the university and the council.
Sara Raybould, UWL’s senior deputy vice-chancellor, said education gave people confidence, creativity and the knowledge to create positive change.
Business course learner Deepack Ramar said the programme had helped him understand business fundamentals, improve planning and develop practical skills he had used to grow his business.
