Free citizen journalism project for Acton youth

Local young people are being offered free, hands-on media experience during the February half term through a new community-based citizen journalism programme in Acton.

Acton Digital Day will run from 18 February to 21 February 2026 at Acton Gardens Community Centre, offering a programme aimed at young people who want to build digital skills, confidence and real-world experience. Participants will learn how to record, edit and host podcasts, working as citizen journalists while interviewing local community figures.

The initiative is being delivered in partnership with Acton Gardens Community Chest and CACE Events.

The free project is designed to help young people develop practical digital and media skills, grow confidence and communication ability, and make meaningful local connections while telling stories rooted in their own area. Sessions will take place in a professional-style podcasting environment, with a studio audience screening and refreshments included.

Places are limited and booking can be made by clicking here. The closing date for applications is 30 January 2026.
