Three students from Ealing’s University of West London have reached the final of a global marketing competition run by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Bethany Taylor, Clarice Pugales and Ranveer Thakur, competing as “3 Marketeers”, are among four London-based teams shortlisted for the final of CIM’s annual contest, The Pitch. Now in its fifteenth year, the competition challenges students to respond to a real-world brief set by a major international brand.
This year IBM has asked undergraduates to develop a bold, content-led campaign tackling common myths about artificial intelligence, while positioning the company as a practical authority on responsible AI. Postgraduate entrants have been tasked with creating a strategic plan to establish IBM as a global leader in “Green AI”, promoting sustainability in the development and use of artificial intelligence.
Joining the University of West London team in the final are B.A.T from the University of Greenwich, METAMORPHOSIS from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, and CarbonLite Imaging from King’s College London.
Delia Mertoiu, CIM Greater London region chair, said: “We are delighted to see continued success in our region. Congratulations to the four teams who have reached this year’s final, we’re backing you all the way.”
Justin Ablett, strategic partners lead for UKI in IBM Consulting, said: “We’ve been hugely impressed by the creativity, skill and passion shown by participants from around the world.”
The undergraduate final will be held virtually on 10 March, followed by the postgraduate final on 11 March, when the title “Marketers of the Future” will be awarded in each category.
