Kristian Mower is a Conservative candidate standing in North Greenford in the Ealing Council local elections on 7 May 2026. He sets out his views.
“For 16 years, Ealing Council has pursued costly, counterintuitive policies that ignore the voices of residents.
“For 30 years, North Greenford has been managed by ineffectual representation that has allowed our streets to decline. I am standing for Council because it is time to stop the rot and provide the representation our community deserves.
”As a younger candidate, I experience the reality of the cost-of-living crisis. I understand the struggle of young families searching for a genuine home in a borough that feels increasingly out of reach. I want to live in and lead a community that prizes safety, stability, and shared values, rather than one that simply manages decline.
”The residents of North Greenford have been clear: the Labour status quo is failing. Our neighbourhood is being hit by a triple threat that erodes our quality of life. First, there is a sharp and unrestricted rise in the number of houses in multiple occupation (HMO) that is gutting our residential streets. Family homes are being carved up into transient dwellings. This does not just destroy the character of our area; it eats away at the fabric of community life. Second, rampant fly-tipping means our streets, which should be a source of pride, have become a dumping ground. We need accountability and action, not more excuses. Third, rising antisocial behaviour is a constant concern. Every resident deserves to feel safe walking their own street. That is why our Conservative team has put safer and cleaner streets at the centre of our campaign.
”A Conservative-run council will use legal powers held by the council to crack down on HMOs and end harmful clusters. We will create a 10-officer strong HMO Enforcement Taskforce and inspect 100% of licensed HMOs by December 2027. We will enforce existing rules that require planning permission for any change of use of a single dwelling to HMO.
“”It is time for representation that reflects what you actually want. On May 7th, vote for a safer, cleaner, and fairer Ealing. We will stand up for your family and our community.
