Metropolitan Police have shut down a cannabis farm after being called to an address in Hanwell near the junction of Hanwell Broadway and Boston Road.
Officers attended the premises and discovered what police described as a cannabis cultivation set-up, including cannabis plants and specialist growing equipment. The plants and equipment were seized and removed from the property.
Naeem Fazal, Metropolitan Police sergeant for Hanwell Broadway and North Hanwell Safer Neighbourhood Teams, said: “Officers responded promptly and, upon attending the address, discovered a cannabis cultivation setup. A significant number of cannabis plants, along with specialist growing equipment, were found inside the premises.”
He added: “All plants and equipment have now been seized and removed, and an investigation is currently underway to identify those responsible.”
Sergeant Fazal said cannabis factories can pose risks to nearby residents, including fire hazards and unsafe electrical installations, and are linked to wider criminal activity.
Police said information provided by the public helped officers take swift action to ensure the property is no longer being used for illegal activity.
Anyone with information about similar activity should call Metropolitan Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
